It's never been a better time to become a professional Salesforce. With businesses around the world are slowly but surely moving towards cloud-based infrastructure, and Salesforce regularly release new products and updates, there is a great demand for skilled salesforce resources that can help with both the implementation and the tasks of business as usual.
But how do you keep track of your actual values as a professional in the community? How do you decide whether to double down on Salesforce technology in all functions of your business, or go with a popular competitor's product? How do you decide when it's time for a job change?
These are all questions that are answered in the report of the independent market new Frank Mason Salesforce. Now in its sixth edition, there is no better way to benchmark salaries, products and culture rather than analyzing the data and self-reported sentiments of the people who make the ecosystem. Here are some key findings.
Salesforce is quite consistent in educational material, in that the Trailhead training modules were created with the intent to Trailblazer eventually get certified. This is the route that Salesforce pushing to make sure all the skills and credentials of the standard, and whilst independent training and credentials do exist, the consensus is that Salesforce certificate is a good measure of knowledge professionals.
In fact, 91% of survey respondents Mason Frank considers them to be a factor that positively impact revenue potential, with 62% considering the important factors. Although this is a mere sentiment, these data support the idea. While getting certified can clearly help to increase your income, the perception is that the actual real-world experience Salesforce is the most valuable thing you can have. Only 3% of respondents did not consider it important (and they are totally wrong), while 86% considered the most important factors that affect the earning potential.
Similarly, a large product exposure is also considered as a factor affecting revenue, with 97% of respondents hold that view and 76% consider important. While this is the opinion of people than the cold, hard fact, a significant proportion of the survey respondents was the team leader or even the hiring manager, so it is interesting to see which characteristics of these people consider valuable.
The survey asked for the certification of those deemed most likely to potential revenue impact, and half of all respondents agreed that the Technical Architect credential is the most valuable in this regard. Certified Systems Architect came second at 42%, while 31% considered Application Architect is likely to increase your score. As you would expect, this tends to mirror that certification is considered the most challenging or require the most experience with Salesforce technology.
